A wedding will never be perfect without flowers.

You can see flowers decorated all throughout the wedding ceremony from the church all the way to the reception. Flowers give luster and life to the surroundings and it is one of the highlights of the occasion. There are abundant selections and alternatives that are useful for your flower needs which is also determined by the theme and the budget for your wedding.

Here are some suggestions or information helpful in obtaining the best deals when it comes to flowers.

Be aware of your budget. You should plan ahead of time on how much money you are going you spend on your flowers. You should make a list of your expenses and set aside a certain amount which is just right for your flower needs. If money is not a problem then go ahead with your scheme and estimate on the budget after.

Flowers are everywhere. You can buy them in all malls or in flower shops along the road. You may think that it is easy to choose the right kind of flowers together with the design and chosen arrangement but this all needs cautious effort and a careful selection process in planning.

You can get a lot of ideas from magazines, books about flowers for specific occasions, flower shops with displays of flower arrangements and from the other weddings you have attended for instance. You can also check out the internet for the latest wedding flowers.

Before making any drastic plans you should gather all your thoughts with your florist. Fresh flowers are quite expensive especially the imported ones. Since they are very delicate, they need the most care. Certain types even need to be placed in a refrigerator to maintain their freshness.

You can cut a percentage of your budget by replacing some of your fresh flowers with candy flowers. Try asking your wedding caterer or cake supplier if they can arrange the flower icing.

Artificial flowers are also great especially if the bride or bridal party have allergies to flowers as they are obviously unscented and are also a cheaper alternative. Something you can keep forever!

Or another tip for you to minimize the use of fresh flowers, instead of a bouquet for your entourage and bridesmaids, you could be resourceful and innovative by letting them carry just a long stemmed flower with a ribbon around it to make it look elegant and presentable for the occasion.

Most florists have wedding flowers booked in 6-12 months before the wedding date, so as soon as you decide to get married get a few quotes and ideas from a few different florists and book in from there.

Florist are very helpful and usually have pics and ideas to help create something different for you! Most florists will also give you ideas for reception flowers, cake flowers, church flowers and DIY etc...,so it’s best to ask then you can choose the right option for you.

You can also get packages that include everything for you including delivery and set up fees if you don’t want to worry or have the hassle of DIY. Most florists also have connections with car hire companys, reception venues, hair & make-up artists, cake decorators, etc.... so just ask your friendly florist and they may be able to recommend someone for your needs.

If you are spending too much of your time about your flower arrangements then it's better to consult a florist or a professional who can also suggest their ideas. You never know, they may have unique and imaginative ideas which you have never thought of.

What flowers are best in what seasons? Jane has suggested the following:
